Wedding Music

by notanotherblogger @ Saturday, 12. Jan, 2008 - 06:14:51

The music people play at their wedding can say a lot about them, I do not recall the music from my own wedding, and I am not going to ask my dearly beloved, I have no death-wish. I have typed up a list of popular wedding dance tunes, here goes-:
1) Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton ( that may well be THE song at my wedding)
2) Dance the Night Away - The Mavericks ( I like that one)
3) I'm A Believer - The Monkees ( you need to be of a certain age, for that)
4) The Time of My Life - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes ( that was also in the funeral top 10)
5) The First, My Last, My Everything - Barry White ( nice sentiments?)
6) When A Man Loves A Woman - Percy Sledge (  aawwww, lovely, but true)
7) Sugar, Sugar - The Archies ( again, you have to be a certain age, and maybe a bit pissed)
8) Perfect Day - Lou Reed ( one of my all time favourites)
9) Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison ( was he blind? No I don't think he was )
10) Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers ( I believe that this song features in nearly all the top 10 lists that you can think of, it's popular)
This is NOT my TOP 10, but the top 10 wedding songs from different web sites, mostly sites relating to weddings. There were some songs that I myself would like to have included, such as - Wishing On A Star - Rose Royce, Nothing Compares To You - Sinead O'Conner, I'm Not In Love - 10cc, are but 3 of my favourite tunes for an occasion such as a wedding. What are your favourite wedding tunes? What was the song that was played when you and your partner set foot on the dance floor for the first dance? If you're getting married soon, what will be your choice of music for that First Dance as a married couple?
Have fun, enjoy life, and be nice to each other, it's so much easier that way.
