I'd like to do a list of ALL the music that I like, but there's always a few that I would forget, leaving that aside, I'm going to do it all the same. They are in no specific order, some remind me of happy days ( not the tv programme with the Fonz) and some remind me of former friends and loves, that I've met and left on the long road of life.
I'll start with Rose Royce- Wishing On A Star, I danced to this with a former partner for the very first time, so it became "Our Song"
My next choice will be I'm Not In Love-10cc, I was seeing a girl from school at the time, and this song reminds me of that, and it's a great song.
Another by 10cc that I really like is I'm Mandy Fly Me. I just like it, maybe it's the tempo changes in it that turns me on, or the story itself?
One track that I really like is Music by John Miles, it's a bit like I'm Mandy Fly Me, in the way that there are so many changes in the tempo, I love that one.
I'm a big fan of David Bowie, mostly his earlier stuff, so I've got to list some of my favourites from him, again in no particular order.
Drive In Saturday, just love it. 5 Years- I was going out with a girl who was also a Bowie fan, and this song reminds me of that time, plus it's a great track. Queen Bitch is also one that I love, it's from Hunky Dory, and it's kinda rock'n'roll-ish, which made it stand out from the other tracks on that album, and I love it. If you've never heard a track from Bowie called The Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud, listen to it a few times, it's just so good, and I first heard it sung live by a friend of Bowies in London, and I never even knew at the time.
I could go on and on with my Bowie favourites, but this is my last one, it's called The Prettiest Star, and this one reminds me of a girl I once knew, when I was on holiday in London as a young 14 year old. There was a girl, a few years older than me, and her name was Star, and I went to her house one night as a boy, but left in the morning as a man. And I'll leave it at that for now. Next I think that I will do my favourite Beatles tracks, but that's for another day.
