Well then that's Easter over and done with then, what's the next thing we can set our sights on? May holiday? Summer holidays? Summer feels a very long way off just now. We've got a covering of snow on the ground here, spring hasn't sprung yet, and we need to have spring before summer. Maybe all this warming of the globe, and the changing of the climate ( which I don't think is like the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, although I've never seen either, so I don't really know?) could mean that spring won't start until June? So summer ( always assuming that we get one this year, although last summer it was the rains, and the summer before that it was the drought, so maybe this year it'll be a mixture of both?) won't start until september.
The weather sure is different, or is it? When we look back to our childhood, and remember those long hot days of summer, or those snowy winter days out sledging in the snow, are we recalling every summer/winter? I know that we didn't have many white Xmas's, otherwise they would never have written that song, I can't remember the name of it just now, but it was quite a big hit many moons ago.
We're getting new back and front doors, we have to, well we need a new back door anyway, and Herself ( my ever loving wife) wants to get a new front door as well. I can guarantee one thing, there'll be something wrong, or something will go wrong with the doors, when they need to be fitted. They're not very cheap, it's gonna cost us over £1000 just for the doors, then there's the £300 that it's gonna cost for fitting. It takes 3 weeks, from the date we order them, until they are ready, but if we want one of the company's fitters to do the job, then it'll be 8-10 weeks, approx. before they'd be fitted. Living on an island, without all the B&Q's of the world, is sometimes nice, but it can be costly to. I'm sure that we could hop on the ferry, and nip into Inverness, for the day, then pick out a couple of doors, have then delivered, once ready, but that's costly as well. It'll be about £100, or more for us on the 3 hour ferry ride, then there's the 120 mile round trip from Ullapool to Inverness in the car, so another £20 or so for fuel. Then there's the delivery cost of 2 large doors, which will be about £60-70, so we've got £200 to add on before we even start. At least buying local means that if there's something wrong with the doors, we can go to their place and shout at them.
Righto that's it, I'll maybe be back tomorrow, maybe not, who knows? Who cares? who reads this shit? Who writes this shit? Oh I do, although technically speaking, I don't write it, I type it, then it magically appears on this page. I dunno how it works, but it just does. Right Cheers then........
